In support of WaterAid
WaterAid is an international non-governmental organisation, focused on water, sanitation and hygiene. It was set up in 1981 as a response to the UN International Drinking Water decade and continues its health-bringing work throughout the developing world. It aims to bring clean water for ALL by 2030. which aims to supply clean water across the world by 2030.
A plea was made for empty spirit bottles, the more unusual shape the better, which were then washed and dried, before being decorated and filled with battery-operated lights. These were then offered for sale in support of Water Aid, and £105 has been raised so far.
As usual, we will also be inviting folk to use St Paul’s Alternative Christmas Card. If you are thinking of sending individual Christmas cards to your friends at church (whom you see once or twice each week), why not think about this alternative. Since 2007 each Christmas we have set up a display board in the Baptistry at St Paul’s containing all our greetings,in return for a donations towards WaterAid. Cards are available for you to write your own message – or you can bring your own card – and put it on one of the two trees. There are envelopes for your donation, gift-aided if possible.
So if you would like to join us, please do so and bring Christmas spirit and a vital element to many who need this precious resource.
