Harvest at St Paul’s

On the first Sunday in October St Paul’s celebrated Harvest Festival.  The church was full and it was good to have members from the Fell Church joining us for the special service.

Afterwards we gathered to enjoy our Harvest lunch.  Once seated David led us in a special ‘Harvest Samba’, which we had sung with the Grange Primary School when they celebrated their harvest festival with us the previous Friday – a catchy version of a harvest grace.

Our first course was delicious, lasagne and salad from the Old School Kitchen, served to our places at table.  The desserts were supplied by members of the congregation, and, as ever, the array was fantastic – trifles, pavlovas, bakewell tart, chocolate ring, apple pies, meringues.  And all finished off with tea or coffee.

David had his first course with us and then, in true Vicar of Dibley style, hastened off to Field Broughton to lead their service – and have his dessert!

Thanks go to all who contributed in any way to this special – and happy – occasion.
