Giving thanks for youth ministry on the Cartmel Peninsula

On Sunday, 29th September, St Paul’s played host to a special service to give thanks and pray for youth ministry on the Cartmel Peninsula.

The church was full for the morning’s Sunday Worship, when Christians from across the churches in the peninsula came together.  The Vicar David welcomed everyone and led the service, while the Revd Mark Houston, Vicar of the new benefice of Allithwaite and Flookburgh, played some modern songs on his guitar and gave the address.  He emphasised that though we might all come from different traditions we all worshipped the one God.  Chris and Andrea Mason, our Youth Leaders, gave an update on their work in the local schools, and three youngsters read from St Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians.  The Revd Jo Rand from the Methodist Church led the prayers of intercession.

Everyone stayed on afterwards to enjoy refreshments and the opportunity for fellowship.  Special plea was made for volunteers to support the various activities planned, and for donations to help keep the Churches Together Youth Trust financially afloat.

The service was recorded and is available on Youtube.
