Christmas Fair at St Paul’s
On Saturday, the day before the start of Advent, St Paul’s held its annual Christmas Fair. All the usual stalls offered their wares, and the cafe served mincepies and bacon butties! There were plenty of customers, including a number of visitors on holiday in the town, and business was brisk resulting in a very profitable result.
The church tree had been dressed – this year all the decorations had been home-made in white, each one representing a Christian symbol.
A heartfelt thank you to the local businesses who generously donated prizes for this year’s Christmas fair raffle.
Lakeside Hotel and Spa – Swim and Steam and an Afternoon Tea for 2
Newby Bridge Hotel – 3 course Sunday carvery for 2
Higginsons Butchers of Grange – £5 voucher
Fletchers Greengrocers of Grange – token
Choco-Lori – a selection of delicious chocolates
Treatment Rooms – a selection of Clarins products
Thank you to those members of the congregation who also provided additional prizes.
Thank you also to everyone who gave their time and effort to help run the fair whether that be setting up the church, standing behind a stall or in front of a frying pan, selling tickets, washing dishes, recycling rubbish, cleaning up afterwards or counting the cash.
Your hard work has not gone unnoticed and is much appreciated. The church is blessed to have such enthusiastic, hard-working members.
These generous gifts plus purchases made at the stalls and cafe meant that St Paul’s Church raised £1971.00.
