A visit by Burneside Brass Band

 It was a pleasure to welcome Burneside Brass Band on Sunday, 26^th December, as part of their 30th anniversary year celebrations; they had decided to add in a few extra concerts and this included Grange-over-Sands, where they say they always get a warm welcome (they feature in the Concerts at the Bandstand).

The Band gave a wonderful concert with a varied programme: the James  Bond theme, a piece by Shostakovich, the Pink Panther theme, Delilah by Tom Jones, plus solos by the baritone, flugelhorn horn and tenor horn, to name but a few.

After the interval when refreshments were served, we heard some traditional Christmas carols ending with a Christmas finale written by an earlier conductor of the Band.

The concert was well supported with an audience of 70 who enjoyed a fantastic brass band concert, and we look forward to welcoming them back next year – Advent Sunday, 1^st December, is already in the diary.  What a talented group of musicians!
